The '06 Volvo I currently drive did this. I would kill it and it would continue to run for several seconds. The fuel shut-off solenoid was bad.
Although it sounds like yours is continuing to run indefinitely, until you pull the fuse, so yours may be something else. Just something to check.

post 11 seems to be from an actual mechanic who has repaired this problem.

That's what I was thinking, the OP didn't give his specific truck kind but #11 seems he knew what he was talking about....

I'd start at post 1, and check through to 11 - better than paying the mechanic to look on here, do the same, and charge accordingly!

I didn't read all the comments. But have you tried disconnecting the power and ground completely for a while and see if that does it. Should reset the ecm system maybe you'll get lucky

I disconnected all the batteries and hope that solves it, it's a 2006 freightliner century. The ignition seems to be stuck on the on position b/c the fuel gauge and volt gauge are on. Btw I forgot to tell u guys there is some sort of burned plastic that came from the fuse panel on the passenger side. I checked the fuses that you can see thru and they all seem to be fine, I don't know how to check the relays tho. I also checked the small fuse box on the driver door side and they all seem to be fine. I just got my authority and I got all my permits and this came up lol all I can do now is just laugh and hope everything goes back to normal after I reconnect the batteries this Friday. :biggrin_2559: I'll keep u guys updated. I just joined this site and I just love how ppl from all over the country can help their fellow drivers with their similar experience on the issue.

even if it works when you connect batteries, the next time any moisture (rain, melting snow)hits PDM it will happen again.the next thing that will happen is your dash gauges will start going crazy, possible abs light on or if you have auto transmission you will be stuck.you won't see any physical damage and all fuses will be working.less than 1 hr.DIY fix.less than $100.good luck.
