I know a gentleman that successfully completed a lease purchase. He told me that the truck was used when he got into it, and that several months after he signed on the line for it he started looking at his options. Turns out that the truck was worth about 90k when he got it. Had he known that upfront he wouldnt have signed up for the hassle of LP. By time he had completed the LP he had paid nearly 400k for the truck, and that at that time the truck was only worth 15k. After that he drove until the truck died and then went into semi-retirement.
Truck stuck in shop 4 weeks. Driver also stuck.

Not all leases are bad. This one seems to be.

My truck went down for what was projected to be 4 days. The booked me a rental car to get home. They paid. It ended up being down for 10 days. They offered a rental truck. I would have had to pay for the rental, but it would have only ran me $350 per week on top of my fixed costs. I chose to stay home, but the offer was nice.dwells40, Bean Jr. and Robert Eroica Dupea Thank this. -
