My family are going to Orlando for two weeks and my husband is a Norwegian truck driver (Volvo FH13) with a big love for American trucks.
We are renting a house in Davenport and I would like to surprise him with a visit to a big truck stop with lots of trucks - or if possible: To go for a drive with an American truck (as a passenger of course) for some hours or a day.
Do you have any ideas for me?
Trucker going from Norway to Orlando for vacation. Surprise my husband!

There is a Pilot Travel Center in Haines City and Travel Center of America in Plant City. Just go walking around and enjoy the sights. Usually the guys with the shiniest most immaculate trucks are more than willing to show you around the inside, pose for pictures and tell you everything you ever wanted know about their trucks. As for the ride along, not sure, but if I was down there I would be more than willing to take you all for a spin in my Peterbilt. Theres lot's of differences in North American and Euro trucks and even our Volvos here are drastically different than yours. Enjoy your time over here.

Thanks a lot!
I had a look at the Pilot Travel center, but could not find the location.
We are staying in Davenport, FL and most of the near by plases had only a few parking spaces. I am not sure if it matters?
125 parking spaces.
130 parking spaces
180 parking spaces
I am not quite sure what to look for.
At what time is the best time? In the morning, evening? -

There is a Love's Truck Stop on I-4 at Polk City. There is a Peterbilt Dealer on US 27 just south of Haines City where he can check out the new ones.

There is also an outstanding Chrome Shop on I-75 near Wildwood. I think it's on Hwy 44 just west of I-75.

Yea the Haines City Pilot is brand new. I forgot all about the Chrome Shop on I-75. It's the first exit north of the junction of the Florida Turnpike and I-75. Lots of Big Tymers polishing their trucks any time if the day there.

Hey, where's Dino??

Wildwood is the obvious choice--and less than an hour--now my personal feelings about the "weed" aside--75 chrome shop and the stuff there--will kncok him out--then between the T/A truckwash etc etc--probabaly exactly what he is looking for--just DON"T LET HIM LISTEN TO A CB__IT WOULD BLOW THE WHOLE DEAL!!! LMAO
LisaAndArne Thanks this.
