I don’t think age has much relevance, maybe a small amount but at some point no matter how old you are the first time you do something will be the first time

Like driving in snow if you’re from the south, 18 or 48 wouldn’t give either person a better understanding of how to drive

I also think a lot more people in this chain of training should also be on the hook from the trainer. DMV. Company who hired him and the government agencies that allowed all of this to get the green light

Just because he felt his brakes were bad doesn’t mean he even understood what that even meant, maybe he had zero mechanical abilities and he believed what the boss told him, I’m also assuming this may have been his first mountain ride and maybe had no clue what the brake check area was or even the runway ramps were for

Not giving him a pass but if we got in Bezos rocket and told the launch pad guys that something felt wrong how would we know anything different when they said everything was fine?

I'd run that truck into the wall and lay it on the side just to begin with when it would not break.. yet again, he did it, cuz of his cowardish soul, let others die, but not me my precious self. There was intent to survive no matter who and what.

That's way too much. 110 years? There are criminals that set out to kill people and didn't get that much. I ain't saying he shouldn't have been punished but he got a raw deal. Intent, and training needed to have been looked at better in this situation here. I've got so many thoughts it's crazy.

He will likely get a deal down the road. And I'm of a mixed opinion about that.

Ignorance and cowardice are not excuses.

Ignorance is definitely an excuse....especially if one wasn't taught properly. We were all ignorant once.

How much of the training does one need to read the sign all trucks must stop in break check area?
