Perhaps if he fired it into the air the charge should have been careless use of a firearm. If he fired it into the ground or fired it safely I don't think he should've been charged at all. He was defending his property

He had a weapon within city limits that's worth a charge to start things off. Discarging same inside city limits is also chargeable. And we will add em up and stack em from there.
The reporter failed in his or her article, originally said that the unarmed driver did not have a weapon when he fel the truck rocking as people worked on breaking into his trailer.
Driver should have stayed in his cab and called 911.
The moment he went out side after the original trailer property thieves the driver has now become a armed aggressor to the three. Now when you throw in firing shots and so on then that's it at that moment. There is no threat other than implied disparity of force presented by three against driver whose cargo might be tiffinay diamond pearls bonded to same's life for all we know.
Taking of the car keys? If the driver took possession of the car keys away from the attackers, then the attackers are seriously incompetant and should and ought to be lauged all the way down the length of the Thames out of ye old england for being so stupid.
It's still not his car. What he doing with it? Nothing good, get rid of it.
The biggest gorilla in the room is gun without permit inside city limits or any amount of legalase wordings to that effect upon which Lawyers gorge and feast on for ages in Bar inside the ye old court room.
This is a mess. I have no reason to include any more thoughts beyond already waht they were here.tucker Thanks this. -

Side story.
The lab I work in invented the batteries that go in the bullet proof vests that armed forces people wear. Their whole vest is one giant battery. They are flat and maybe the width and length of a cigarette pack. One of the requirements was they had to be shot with an M16 and a 45 pistol and not start on fire.
I have a rifle that uses the same round as an M16 and had no problem putting a round into the middle of the battery. I also own a .45. Had to call the police to come down and do it for me. I either missed or hit it on the side. One shot and he hit it almost dead center. The battery started on fire by the way.
We also make all the batteries used to start the Raptor and all other aircraft. Pretty much made up of all AA batteries. 28 volt. -
Wtf does a bullet proof vest need a battery for?
Big Don Thanks this. -
Bullet proof vest does not stop a rifle bullet. Two shots from a .45 in the same place can go through.
