Trucker starting a non- trucking part time job. What do I need to know?

We just had a partime driver resign Friday over this , even Yard Dog work is on his logbook , he didn't know and neither did I.
They company he drove for got wind of him moonlighting , nice fella , good driver were sorry to lose him.
Its a old post here but Truckers Report is a amazing source of information.

 

I thought volunteer time wasn't required to be logged...it is NOT 'non-motor carrier COMPENSATED work"!

 

Yeah ^^^, If a guy wants to work somewhere else non commercialy to supplement his income... I WOULDN"T SAY A THING..

Log driving your personal vehicle to and from terminal also , you are on duty.
Any conversation with dispatch or shop before departure come off of your 34 reset and log on line 4.

I did take a temporary job while employed with Swift at the same time. But this is because Swift has had me on suspension for almost two months now and I needed to put food on the table in the meantime. "Don't ask, don't tell" is how I feel about this.

 

Making an "issue" outta something thats not Relevant-

If You want to find a part-time job to Supplement your income-Or its Needed to Raise your Family- You Go and do it!!

Nothing is more important than you and your family..........

I swear...Some of you guys act like your Imprisoned holding a CDL- Go Live Life Already- Quit making things an issue.
