That was your wording. I guess I missed 'mind-reading' your sarcastic embellishment.

Is that 15 mph over under specific circumstances... if so, what?... or just anytime, in general?
That's what I'd like to know. Also, is that your unit (MS DOT)?

Apparently you can't read. The Article states that the Trooper was cruising around looking for the trucker. How do you look for someone while doing 95 mph. Give it a break already unless you were a witness.

All the assumptions and possible playing out of scenarios will not bring this young soul back. But as blood drug & alcohol levels are being checked maybe blood sugar levels and other causes of disorientation should be checked ( ex. stroke, heartattack, high/low blood sugar levels, car bonoxide poisoning, etc.) The possibilities are endless on the driver's actions as well as what played out for the trooper. Was he speeding, distracted momentarily, was lighting a factor, etc. Only three will ever know exactly what happened in under a second -- one will not tell, one can't tell, & one may never understand it to tell (God, driver, & trooper). The one definite factor is it was the driver's time to step into eternity. We are left hoping he had made his peace with his maker before facing Him. God said that the Spirit will not wrestle with the flesh forever. It is my prayer that this was the homecoming of this driver and not the result denying on the last call. May God bless & comfort all involved.

With retiring in public safety with18yrs of service, I have knowledge about the 15mph rule. Emergency vehicles may exceed all posted mph upto but not in excess of 15mph when responding to a call and MUST be code 3 (lights & siren), this rule applies to all marked, unmarked & permitted (vol. fire p.o.v.'s) vehicles. Returning from calls speed limits applies as posted.
