I'm a professional trk driver,I respect all signs, all laws and all traffic. But my attitude comes out when im talking to someone at the company I may be driving for.A steering wheel holder is basically someone who just doesn't care and only has one thing on their mind making money,Not any different with carriers, their main objective is money and getting loads picked up and delivered ontime.I have seen many steering wheel holders and as long as they don't get too many tickets violations ect, companies won't do anything. Many of the carriers aren't any better in fact some are worse then trk drivers as far as following the laws.Their safety scores prove that.

I concur with the second post. Truckers are mindful of following safe practices and others around them. A trucker lets you merge lanes, and will also hit the parking lights when you let them merge in front of you. A trucker gets his/her fuel, and then immediately moves up before going inside for a receipt or soda refill. A trucker will dim his lights at night when you're having a hard time backing into a spot, so you can do it safely instead of being blinded. That same guy will give you a CB shout in the day time to let you know if you're good to go or not. A trucker keeps his CB on and will let another trucker know if he has a tire out, a chain hanging, or loose cargo. A trucker gives you a quick howdy sign as he passes, instead of being glued to his cell phone. A trucker is a guy/gal who will offer assistance in tarping a load, chaining a car, or if a fellow driver needs help when his hood is up at the truck stop. He will also hold the door open for that guy that is coming in to get fuel / food after a long day.
Truckers are good people, looking out for a fellow driver, steering wheel holders don't care, damage cargo & trucks (theirs and yours), don't give a #### if your brakes are smoking, gotta loose strap, chain sparking on the road etc, and won't bother to pick up the mic tell you. I could go on...Bigchevy, peterd, VagabondTrucker and 3 others Thank this. -
