Now I have time to do a lot more...to play golf on the weekends, to date, (if I can ever find a lady who doesn't already have 5 kids)...to even maybe possible get back into the air...
All the things that use to make my life rich and enjoyable...all the things OTR driving robbed me of...
I use to love aviation, took lessons, soloed...
But years of trucking removed me from that...I was never home long enough to fly...
Now, maybe I could apply for grants, and get back in the air...not as a career pilot, but just as a recreational one...who knows...
OTR driving has really made my past rainbow life...grey...very grey...
One tone...
I will never ever ever, fit into the trucking world...
And truckers will never ever ever embrace me...never...
(long pause after phone call)...
Ok...where was I...
Anyways..to each their own...
There are many beautiful aspects to OTD...expecially in the spring and summer...driving throught the Tennesse mountains...
The trees the landscape...
It's not all bad...just depends on where your at in life, your own
personal journey...
Gotta cut this short...later...
Trucking can be like a bad marriage...

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds

-
All nighters can be grueling...expecially when you can't stop to sleep, and fighting off a cold...grueling...
I'm beat...back after I get some rest... -
Sick...
Under the weather...for sure...
But still want to leave a few comments while thoughts are still coherant...before cold medicine kicks in...
Americans are really good at canibolising each other...
I can tell, the death of Osama Bin Laden didn't really mean much to many...and like every thing else, has simply morphed into the left and the right taking pot shots at each other...
For the next for weeks, months, the mission will be picked apart from both sides, people will be called 'liers', motives will be questioned ect ect...
The death of Osama, is simply another platform for which political rivals can cannibalize one another...
I can tell, most have never served, cause when you serve, and perform a mission, and accomplish that mission...you just leave it alone and move on...
You don't pick the mission to shreds, examine, re-examine, and then assign blame to your political opponents...
But we are such a 'pop' leisure culture, that's all we have time to do...turn everything into a game show...even a serious mission.
Soon we'll be making dolls and toys of Seal team 6 ect ect...
Our culture has turned very plastic...
Real warriors don't discuss that crap, and keep their emotions of such a mission in check...
And never do they politicize it...never...
that's why I can tell those who have really served, and those who haven't...
Totally different mentalities...(Not always)...
Also...death is nothing to root for...I never cheer for evil...
And death, according to the bible, is a result of evil...
I can pray for justice, but not death...
Like I said, we all are going to die anyways...
And when you have someone close to you in your own life, struggling to hang on...if you have a heart, you won't be in such a rush to cheer anyones death...when you see how it effects someone so close to you...
Again...I cheer justice, not death, and if that makes me 'bad' in the eyes of politically drooling men, oh well...cause there not the ones I have to stand before one day...U4EA Thanks this. -
Hi...
This post is specifically for you...in the other posts, I'm just kind of blogging...
But this is for you...
I feel terrible right now...
I may go to the VA tomorrow...if no improvement...I've never used their services before...cause for the most part I ignore that part of my past...
But hey, why not...I may go tomorrow...make an appointment and go...
More on that later...
I got to work yesterday evening at 18:30....left at 19:00....
arrived at destination in SC at 00:15...it was raining...very hard...
I got wet...
It was a long dark ride up there...truck had no CB radio...no satellite radio...it was a long dark grueling ride...
To make it worse, truck was governed, so your getting past by even mopeds...
Ok, there's nothing worse than having a guy on a moped pass you......dmn...
Anyways...
I got there...got soaked, and then had to do the 277 mile return drive...
It was dark, and lonely...ended up listening to BBC radio most of the night...like Britians version of NPR...cause couldn't get nothing else on radio...wow...
Oh well...made it back...don't know how...never thought that night would end...
240 miles to go......210 miles to go....174 miles to go....133 miles to go...
It was like a slow nightmare...hll would be never reaching your destination, while fighting off drowsiness...
Got back...at around 05:30 am...met lady, who was cute, but also a Lesbian...a lesbian driver...but cute...her girlfriend was with her...
Met on yard...gave her pass down and trailer...then drove home...
And now I'm sick...I think It got worse cause you body fights off colds when you sleep...and since last night I did not sleep, body never had time to shut down and do it's thing...
You can't fight of colds, unless you sleep...strange miraculious metaphysical things take place when you sleep...but if you don't sleep, you don't heal...
Oh well...now I'm paying the price...
Hope all is well for you...
Stay strong...later...U4EA Thanks this. -
Check this out U4EA...it makes no sense at all, and if this occured in any other industry or sport, there would be a major investigation going on...so so sad...what's going on??
http://www.wwecritic.com/dead-wwfwwe-wrestlers-that-died-in-the-last-10-years/
(this is only a small, partial list)
It's like genicide or something...
Can't believe no major news organization has brought light to this...
Again...what's going on??
More lists...
http://www.pwwew.net/people/dead.htm
http://www.ickypeople.com/2007/07/most-complete-list-of-dead-wrestlers.html
The last link is extensive, but no photos...amazing...are wrestlers cursed or what??U4EA Thanks this. -
Hmm interesting...
Not sure what to make of it though. The first link wasn't to surprising; drug abuse, specifically cocaine, commonly causes heart attacks/failure, even in people as young as 19 years old. Cocaine mixed with benzos (as reported in article), or other illicit drugs, coupled with the fact that many of the wrestlers who died were in their 40's or older; didn't raise any "crisis" flags in my mind. Cocaine and middle age definitely do not mix.
I also think it was very common of wrestlers to severely abuse their bodies.
Steroids (extremely common in that sport) have long been associated with a whole slew of adverse side effects. Also, several death were the result of complications from surgery resulting in death, cancer and accidents...
Again, nothing I would consider uncommon or uncanny. Especially since suicide rates among entertainers is probably next to zero.
Again, just my take on the reports.
The most disturbing cause of death among pro wrestlers were the seemingly high suicide rate.ghostchild Thanks this. -
Goodnight...and thanks for the wrestling input...just didn't know what to think of it...
Maybe I'll do an equivalent NFL funeral check as well...
See if as many Current and past NFL players are dying, and if so what of...
Anyways...time for bed...should of retired hours ago...but as when I use to call you from truck...it's just hard for me to force myself to sleep when mind is active...
later....

After reading this thread...I realize my instinctual survival mechanism to change jobs, or at least driving schedual, was based in real life health consequences...
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=735732
And although not a scientist...my instincts told me that a lifestyle of being cooped up in a truck 24/7, cheap food, no excercise, constant diesel fumes, just wasn't good...
Not just on moral, but bodies health...
I'm already lean...but one would be suprised, as I was, the amount of belly weight I shed, just by stepping out of truck...
Hardly any drivers I see look like 'jocks'...they simply do not move around enough in the course of the day...with the exception or route drivers...and or flat bed and other labour intensive routes...
And once you get into your 40's...all the stuff you did in your 20's and 30's...will either work to your advantage, or against you...
No ones going to live forever in these bodies...but the OTR trucking lifestyle accelerates your appointment with this guy...
The grim reaper claims around 700 truckers a year, just in fatal accidents...and drivers suffer heart disease at 30% higher the rate of general population...sleep apnea contributes to heart disease, so do hyper tension, brought on by stress...
When you drive, your always uptight, road rage, yelling ect ect...
I still drive, but not at the same pace as before...
In the end, will it do any good, or give me any extra quality time down here...who knows...
For sometimes you can counter the bad effects of road lifestyle, with other harmful health habits...
So whether in a truck or not, you have to be careful about what you do...
Anyhow...not much planned for the day...I try to ride bike once a day up to store...need to ride more than that...and join a gym...
Sometimes being around others working out, will inspire you to keep up...
But whether drives live to be 80 or not...most have done what they had to do to provide for their families...
Beyond that, all they, one, can really do is anchor ones faith in God, salvation...and just go with it...later..U4EA Thanks this. -
I think every now and then, I'll start doing a 'Marriage thread retro moment' post...
In other words, there's a lot of information on this thread...lot's of shared thoughts...and every now and then I think it would be fun and benifiscal to go back and dig up a page that I feel has good info on it that is still relovant and has been buried behind hundreds of posts..
(And who says I wouldn't make a good TV production manager)...
Anyways...this ones from page 19...particularly post #183...where I named the two Senators responsible for sponsoring HOS rules that would effect all of us...
As far as I know, their still pushing it...
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...681-trucking-can-be-like-bad-marriage-19.html
Page 19 was started on 10/31/10...October of 2010...wow...
At the time, I was working for a owner operator, driving a white Volvo and hauling containers...oh the memories... -
Ok, I'm bored...my DVD doesn't work, and I don't have a TV...can't watch any movies or anything...
I miss my movies...they provided such an escape...
Ok...please excuse me while I 'kiss the sky'..(Jimmi Hendrix)...
I just ate some Peanut Patch Cajun boiled peanuts, and my mouth is on fire...
woh baby...where's some water...
One sec....
Ok I'm back...wow...cajun boild peanuts are no joke...
Anyways...where was I...ye, no dvd player...therefore no movies...
In a calm mood...so I guess I'll just lay back...and allow time to move me forward..U4EA Thanks this.
