To all C/L truck driving recruiters...

Drivers aren't 'stupid'...just cause someone drives, or chooses to drive a truck for a living, doesn't mean they're 'dense'...

If they happen to be 'dense'...they were that way long before they got their license, and not because of...

Today...I cursed out a recruiter, who disrespected me...well they never got that far...I didn't allow it...

To the recruiter I cursed out today...your only 'great' in your own mind...

    Your not god...

And I'm sorry if it troubles you that some of us drivers are confident at what we do, the skills we have aquired over the years...sorry if that intimidates you...

Were you expecting some spineless wimp...with low self esteem?

The demeaning spirit you displayed today, is what I can't stand about the industry now...

Truckers are not to be kicked around...

    (I'm trying to hold back)...

You mean nothing to me, just like I mean nothing to you...

My only fault, in your eyes, is cause I was 'confident in my ability'...

And so you proceed to tell me 'Oh you know to much'...
Dm right I do...I'm not some brain dead such and such...

Don't ever speak to me or any other driver in such a condescending way ever again....

    Ever....

    I'm just kidding...of course I am...have a great day...

I'm just a soft kitty cat...everyone knows that...

    Hi,

First off, how come every AM talk show host keeps pounding this debt ceiling issue down their listeners throats??
(it was raised 7 times under President Bush)

That seems like a rich man, corporate tycoon issue...(yes, I know, trickle down)

But what I'm wondering...is how is whether the debt ceiling is raised or not, going to effect my daily life? get me out of poverty? and convence employers to pay more?

Am talk show host have a nack of getting their listeners caught up in issues that really don't effect them.

These are more like symbolic, partison issues, but they're not issues that help the little man out day to do...

Whether the debt ceiling is raised or not, the working poor will still be poor, and those at the finicial top, will still be rich...
But Republican talk show hosts have convinced p/u truck driving, rural listeners that this issue somehow effects them.
It's simply a play on partison emotions....

    Second...
Trucking companies are finding themselves in a quagmire here...the CSA has laid down such stringent guidelines, that now many of the companies can't find enough 'qualified' drivers to keep their trucks running....

As if the trucking industry is going to attract the best and brightest of society...
If people have to go through all this extra trouble just to drive a truck, many just simply won't...

And those who are 'paper perfect'...well...I doubt they bounce around much, and probably stay with one company for a long time...

So now the industry is seeing a shortage of CSA qualified drivers...
And companies are fearful of hiring drivers with 'log violations'...and other such stuff, cause now that stuff follows the driver wherever he/she goes, like a virus...it's with you for life, your CSA record that is...

And if companies hire to many drivers, or any driver with 'mess' on their record...they get awarded 'safety points'...

And in the CSA world, the more points a company has, the lower their safety rating is, the higher their insurance...(what a racket)...wouldn't be suprised at all if the insurance companies are behind all this...cause in the end, they win, the insurance companies that is...now they can justify raising insurance rates on companies...

Ye, I know, 'hire only the best'...sorry, humans error...no industry has flawless perfect employees...why should trucking be any different??

And considering how mny miles a driver navigates during a week, the odds of issues rising are much greater for drivers, than say a cashier...

Pretty soon, most everyone will be unhireable...
If the industry wants total perfect drivers, than they need to replace drivers with robotic droids...it's the only way....

I still can't get over that recruiter...

It's the only industry I know where recruiters, and certain others in the industry, want their employees to be 'brain dead'...

Other industries celebrate and reward those who are bright, and confident at what they do, where as the trucking industry seems to be the opposite...

They won't even hire seasoned drivers, in favor of 6 month experience types...

Think if the airlines did the same...

    It varies..
Cause some companies won't hire if you don't have at least ect ect years of otr or so many years of otr within past x amount of years...

The companies that are hiring now seem to be 1099 types...
Where you basically run as a 'contractor'...companies like this aren't as concerned about how many jobs you've had, and where...they mainly just look at your safety record...that's their focus, cause they to have to answer to insurance companies and the CSA...

The CSA, yet another tax funded layer of government...wow...

    Amazing...

    Welcome home guy...

Yes, it has been a while...and things have been 'crazy', as they always are in my life, our lives....mad crazy...

Just quit a job, but got rehired at another place in less than a day...mad crazy I tell ya, mad crazy...

Trucking can be like a 'bad marriage'...
It just rings true on so many levels...sometimes it's a marriage you have to tolerate though...seek counceling for...

This thread is sort of like that...a group meeting...like AA for drivers...

I do most of the chatting, but I think many can relate, as is evident by the over 23,000 views...or hits...

Life never stops, until your done...so ya just gotta keep on rolling...and that's what I do...

I'm the one soul that will always be here...day in, day out...like clock work...until they throw me out...:biggrin_2559:

Welcome back fella, and welcome to the trucking world, with it's ups and downs...

Some of the people on this forum are so dense it's actually sad.

They find any which way to justify the poor treatment and pay most drivers face throughout their career; justifying the way they are treated like the absolute dregs of society. Their anti-union BS - "Ohhh, I don't have to pay someone to work"; they're grasping at straws - nothing solid, just the poor mindset that literally puts them there (poor house) in the first place.

These are often the same people who are chronically complaining about hometime, making $250 a week and being gone 24/7; being cheated, lied to and taken advantage of.
