Just another family torn apart by the reality curse. The Osborne's, the Hogan's, the Jenner's, the Simmons' all bitten by the reality bug, all adversely affected by living under the spotlight. And the world craves more. Sad isn't it? What we choose to call entertainment.

I don't think you're weird. Until you get all your teeth capped in gold and wear a giant clock around your neck. But I don't judge. To each is own. If I thought looking and acting like an idiot would make me a million dollars, I'd give Flav a run for his money.

According to Powell the 'goodbuddies' are getting a little more bold nowadays. I can't say I've ever had a problem. Many of my friends are gay and are actually more fun than their straight counterparts. Some people still fear the gay culture and it's sad. They are missing out on a fun group of people. There is a thread floating around somewhere on weather or not a straight person would go to a gay bar. It's hilarious. Some people think they have a mind control machine inside or like invasion of the body snatchers you go inside being you and come out a different person. Some people will never change.

Ye, openly gay or gayish folks do tend to be more fun to hang around in a social setting...much more relaxed...not as uptight...

I mean even if they're celebate...they're just more fun...it's like they use both sides of their brain, insead on one...

And usually because they face the stigma of social persicution...they're much better listeners..and can more easily relate to whatever it is your going through...

If more drivers were gay or gayish...I think the enviornment would be a lot more cheery...

And I'm just refering to daily interaction on a social level...not the intimate part...

Being OTR...you get around more than reporters...but not always to the key spots though...

But people are interesting, always doing interesting things...just got to observe...and be ready for that moment...

Ok, I've had a long full day, like I'm sure many of you have had...and I'm ready to call it...

I don't stress my mind or body out by driving much past 10-11 pm anymore...it's just not worth it to me anymore...

I put in a full day...and that's it...and luckily there really is never any set appt time with these deliveries...
I can't do the 'must be there by 5:am type of runs anymore...can't stand appts...expecially early morning...like 2am types...you get those a lot running refer trailers...

It totally messes up your sleep cycle...and log cycle...cause it interupts your down time...and once there...your awake for hours going in and out of warehouse checking on your load...and if you need lumper service it's even worse...

And if they get done with you at 4am and tell you to leave property, there may be no place to park...so now your sleepy...have to drive for an hour to find a place to park...
It's 5-6 am....your out of it...your dispatcher shows up to work at 7am...all fresh after being off since 5 pm...and they send you a qualcom message at 7:01 saying...
'Wake up, it's time to get rolling'...

'Beep Beep...Wake up...it's time to get rolling' :biggrin_25516:

Have load that pics up in Queens, NY...must pick up and deliver by 9:00 am in Baltimore'

    '
They, your dispatcher, conviently forget you've been up all night at warehouse dealing with lumpers...

This is the kind of stuff that wears your body out, and has a 29 year old driver looking 64

stress on the body...lack of proper rest...

And those qualcome, must be there at this time, appoitment type companies will do that to ya...

Definatly not for me anymore...cause your always given loads that are already late...
And you show up and get the dirty look from the shipper...

They assign you loads at 4pm, that should of been given to you at 10am....and conviently forget that you can't drive 249 miles in 1 hours...

But someone marks it on your record as you being 'late'...instead of asking why the load planner assigned you the load 'late'...

Anyways...that kind of driving will make your life difficult...and quickly suck all the fun out of driving...

Well let me get settled in here...

I think this is it for the night...

Let's all mind visit the planet Mars together tonight, as we sleep...last one there's a rotton egg...

    Goodnight...

My first reply ever and I have to say, please start writing a book about your experiences or stories you have heard because if you start the 1st paragraph with that, then we all will have truckers entertainment for many a beginners warning and laugh, laugh, laugh.
    Thanx

First thanks for making your first post ever, in the 'Trucking can be like a bad Marriage' thread...neat..

And second...myself and another fella on here were discussing writing a E-book, a few weeks ago...and now that I have new hardware...well...who knows...

I could definatly be more detailed in a book...like pay per view version of WCW verses regular weekly shows or matches...

Either way...I just enjoy writing and sharing...

    Welcome to the Truckers Forum....
I'm just amuezed that of all places, ya landed here first...wow...
