thanks all for the comments. Truck Driver I'm sure you are right, but not what I wanted to hear. Looks like going to school is my only option.

i keep a log book every day and i am home every night. personally i think it just boils down to experience

my opinion is they are trying to get you to take a pay a starting driver should get when you should be getting a little more.

A buddy of mine drove for pepsi for years and then got hired by first fleet. It worked for him.

If you already have a CDL A no need for school. A company may send you out with a trainer but a school is not going tk teach you anything about OTR...

I would dig a little deeper, althligh 4 months is not a ton of experience, you should find a gig atnleast at a Starter company.

Yes some companies are very picky and have weird rules when it comes to "otr" experience. I ran into some of the same problems in the past. If you run a day cab and spend the night in a hotel a lot of companies don't consider that otr. This could be partly due to the insurance and also partly due to the company not wanting to pay for experience.

This situation is what many drivers are facing nowadays there was a thread about a 20 yr local driver that was upset about this. Wonder who came up with that stupid rule.

were you considered a driver salesperson? did you stay in state mostly home every night? ever deliver from AZ to NY? know how to fnd a place to park BEFORE your time is up? can you back that pepsi co rig in a truck stop after a long 14 hour day? do you drive a day cab? is your truck your home? if you added ten more feet to that rig could you still drive it safely?answer these and youll know if your OTR or not.....
