My trucks losing power. It feels like it stutters when I first get going. The engine light is not on. I've got an active code spn 524285 fmi 14. I took it to international but they said there was nothing wrong and there was no active codes at that time. It takes like 20 minutes to get up to 65 miles an hour but once I'm there it runs okay. I checked the air filters cuz it feels like the engine just not getting the right amount of air. Anybody got any ideas.

If its a Maxxforce ur screwed, the high or low turbo has prob bit the dust. Or its just a POS if its a Maxxforce then both apply!

Yep its a max force 13 . It had a new turbo put in about 4 months ago and right after I got an EGR cooler replace this problem started.

It has 2 and the one that normally goes is the high side. Should be able to hear it spin up with windows down. Those motors are such junk its amazing to me that company's are STILL running them. We have a few left but its because International extended the warranty and agreed to take them back after the 400 mark. The ones we have left wont stay on the #### road long enough to hit the 400 mark!

Honestly, your best bet is to cut your losses and RUN from that MaxxFarce as fast as you can and get into something else.... If you like international, get one with a Cummins.

That active code is just from the SART module. It's only job is to keep the time stamp when codes get logged from the engine and does not cause engine problems. You likely have a stuck closed exhaust back pressure valve, or stuck open turbocharger waste gate.

Stuttering...every Maxxfarce I have ever driven has had that stutter unless you are on the throttle over half way. Mine has been off and on doing the same thing(lack of power) for weeks I thought I had it fixed last weekend when the main pressure hose blew coming from the CAC to the intake. It's pulling better, but still getting 5 mpg max. It could be your EGR. I had the wiring harness get screwed up last summer, this thing would lose speed climbing a hill bobtail...then the engine fan died. The tech said the EGR was throwing so many codes, he couldn't allow it to leave until it could be fixed. Re-pinned (his word) the wiring harness...and it ran great for a while.

This truck and that engine is why I am leaving my present company. 1st question I asked the new company..."do you have, or are you planning to buy International trucks?" If he would have said yes, I would have apologized for taking his time and hung up. I will never drive another International ever again.

Its interesting how International said there was nothing wrong with it cause they will plug in there diagnostics machine and few seconds later it will spit out the problem so if diagnostics won't report it what is the real problem you mentioned air filters how about the fuel filters or fuel injectors if it is an old engine other than that perhaps it is the turbo although they usually will cut in at high revs.
