I'm asking questions because it's better to learn. The reason I ask is because tandem all the way back needs more time to respond.

It's better to ask questions rather than just do it and have an accident. Tandem all the way back needs more time to respond. I am new but trying to do my best all of you guys are professional with many years experience I'm not there yet. Rather than have ego I asked to be good like you guys. Thank you

Watch the aforementioned "Turns in a Big Rig" video (repeatedly, if need be) -- then later "buttonhook" as necessary to allow those tandems to clear any corners/objects.

ALWAYS WATCH THOSE BACK TANDEMS THRU EVERY TURN (using your "concave" mirrors).

CONGRATULATIONS -- on your fuel gig! :occasion5:

Properly configured -- fuel tankers can be some of the coolest-looking rigs on the road.

In order to make a right turn, put your signal on, right not left, proceed to turn, turn said signal off, right not left, most new trucks have self canceling signals, but if not, be sure to turn signal OFF, I’d hate to see you run out of “blinker fluid” :)

And adjust as necessary depending on placement of tandems. But I will not, repeat I WILL NOT, get involved in another discussion about how tandem placement affects turning radius! [Bangs head against wall]

I have yet to see a tanker with sliding axles.

And I believe there are 53 footers.

    I pulled a 48 for 5 years.

Three left turns make 1 right turn, I'll let you figure that one out....

I use my flexable, soft sided trailer.

Never had a problem bouncing off anything.

Agreed on the lack of sliding tandems. A typical transport tanker (5-7000 gallon) is usually 43 feet. My company has some 12,500 gallon tankers that are 53’.
