Kudos to the guy for asking here anyway. Most come here after it didn't work out. It would be most likely that the roll off job will be a lot better for you in this case. A LOT better. All the best to you.

Well long story short, not working fedex. They changed last minute and pay went from 90 to 50 cents just like that. I’m thinking Philippines or Vietnam… I’ll probably go back to SNI and do the tankers finally.

Forget DG. It's notorious for ruining drivers.
Recycle places are fun! They'd tell me; I want you to drive over there. Bwwwaaaahhhhaaaahhhaaaa :laughing-guffaw:Then I want you to back in there. :laughing-guffaw: He'd say: Oh don't worry. If you can't make it. I'll pull a bulldozer over there and push it back. :laughing-guffaw:
I went to one recycle place in Arizona. Brand new warehouse. Clean as can be. All pallets wrapped and set ten feet apart. I told them there was something wrong with them. This isn't normal.

    77fib77 Thanks this.

Pay change doesn't seem out of line for a Chicago 1099 company. Kinda of typical to get screwed or pre-screwed in this case.

Anyway good luck. It's a good time to travel before your settled.

A FedEx Ground contractor wouldn’t be 1099. They probably didn’t have a contract for that truck and it was running all over would be my guess, and then things got slow. I’ve noticed areas that were paying a dollar or more for drivers not long ago are now advertising 70 to 80 cents. I’d imagine it’s slowing way down because of how many trailers Amazon has now.

77fib77 and Chi Town Steers Thank this.

That $94,000.00 number sounds like a "earn up to...." ad to me. Like one poster wrote, you will need to run 525 miles a day, then hand unload the trailer. Most DG's are not in the most truck friendly area's. This is 12 to 14 hours every day to make $94K. Then return to the yard and drive one hour to get home.

    Take the roll-off gig!

Kyle G., Albertaflatbed and 77fib77 Thank this.
