My favorite drivers are the ones that blow past while crowding the center line and then come over right on top of you even though they are going fast enough to quickly build a comfortable cushion. I used to think they were just simpletons, but I'm pretty sure it's some sort of macho chest thumping.

I try to be a courteous driver, although I can be an arse with the best of them if someone aggravates me enough. A flaw in my character to be sure, but one I'm ok with.

What percentage of trucks pass you, get a half mile ahead, and then start slowing down so you catch up to them even though you've had your cruise control on the whole time, and you're on flat terrain? And then seem offended when you pass them?

This is a typical road warrior mentality. All about you isnt it. Lets think real hard about this and why some maybe driving these rated trucks. HMMMMM Maybe they are in their first year or two of driving and paying their dues by putting up with super truckers like you. Thankfully your a dying breed in your made up cowboy world...tex. Yes you will be left behind because speed is governed and e=logs are here and emissions are here to stay. Be courteous and let the next gen do what theygotta do....good lord. lol

The thing is, this next gen driver driver is a major part of the problem out here now. Those of us that you say are a dying breed have is what started the brotherhood that drivers used to have for each other. Back when we actually helped each other if broke down on the side of the road, or lended a helping hand if needed without being asked, just cuz we seen a situation that called for it, with no payback in mind. Call it what you want, but just maybe the old cowboy way we ran, and lived is what formed that comradery to begin with, and made trucking what it was.... It really pains me to say that this wonderful industry, and way of life is gone, to be replaced by this new breed of crap that we now see out here, where the truck thinks more than the driver does.
Nothing much left but automatics, elogs, and self monitoring trucks.. it's a sad, sad time for trucking!!!! Pretty soon they can put trained pets in the seats instead of real thinking quality drivers, oh wait, they already do.......

I agree Gearjammer. But time marches on. We have great memories. But technology is here. The brotherhood was nice and will always exist among drivers that think of others. And can see past their own little world. Did you know grandpa thought the telephone was the work of the devil because now people could sneak and talk long distance, Then the T.V......now the Internet. People will adjust and learn how to incorporate it into their lives for good and throw away the bad.

I'm governed at 68 and if I see a truck trying to pass me creeping I always slow down to 65 but when I'm slowly gaining on a truck they hardly ever slow down for me it pisses me off but what ever and it seems in the last 5minths every time I pass or some one passes me there on the zipper and I'm riding the solid line ughh

you're forgetting the drivers that'll pass everyone and ignore or can't read the signs that say trucks two rights only '- no trucks left lane .- trucks right lane only and those that pass others that stick to the speed limit in the correct lanes.

when I pass I'm not looking for a head light flash. my turn signal goes on and I watch for the that impatient driver before I move back over.
