Experienced drivers can have riders after 90 days. The training program goes around five weeks on average. It’s at the discretion of your trainer as to when you test out.

Got called up by Tyson for orientation as new CDL grad. Have a few questions if you don’t mind.
1. They said 6 weeks training on truck. After 3 weeks a few days off (evaluation etc). Sound right?
2. It is regional In MO, they said loads 600 miles and less? Is that been your experience or much longer deliveries?
3. In training are there showers in Tyson facilities or must use Love’s etc?
Any info is greatly appreciated!
Thanks -
You’ll mostly run Sedalia/Rogers/Olathe, with customer loads in between. Average length of haul will be around 300. Mostly drop and hook. Our dc’s and terminals have showers and laundry facilities. That’s my territory, and it’s a good one to be in. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for quick response! Really looking forward to working at Tyson!

Props to Tyson-Rogers for allowing outside carriers to utilize their driver facilities. I’ve spent the night and showered there, many times.

They just closed the one near me in Corydon and put a bunch of that town out of work.
