I haven't worked in 5 years and I would love to get back to working.
I called Swift and they said that I'd need at least 12 months of working in the last year. Prime said 6 months.
Are there any carriers that don't have this requirement?

Sign up with a temp agency. Go work, just to show you are working.

Do you mean no work history? Because you are starting over as a new driver...

Swift and Prime aren't taking new drivers anymore?
Or do you mean they either wanted you to go out with a trainer like a normal brand new CDL driver or get 6-12 months experience elsewhere and then get hired on with them as a solo driver?
Thats crazy if Swift requiring 1 years experience to work for them, their business model has always been brand new drivers. -
I consistently see Maverick Transportation hiring beginner drivers in the Knoxville area:
Maverick Transportation -- hiring student (novice) drivers -- Knoxville, TN
CAUTION: This will be for flatbed duty -- so this one is REAL WORK. However -- unlike some other beginner carriers...the training & the equipment is first-rate.
