There doesn't seem to be a complete list of all the requirements for a US carrier to go into and through Canada. I would like to start that list here. We are a new company with one truck and we plan to go into Canada. I am registered as a non-bonded carrier, which I believe means to that if I take a load in transit through Canada (like to Alaska) I'll need to use someone else's bond, like a customs broker, or pay for a single trip bond.
Besides all of the US requirements (DOT #, insurance, plates, IFTA, etc...) here is what I have so far:

    1. SCAC
    2. Canadian Carrier Code
    3. CBSA portal login (for eManifest)

This is just for a US carrier taking a load into or out of Canada or through Canada back to US.
Please add anything specific to any provinces pr anything else I don't have yet. I know Ontario and Quebec have additional requirements, but we don't go there for now. Please add those anyway.
Copy and paste the list with things added so it stays current as one comprehensive list.

British Columbia also has additional requirements.

The Motor Vehicle Act requires that all out-of-province commercial vehicles operated on
BC highways are insured to meet BC insurance requirements. There are two ways for
operators of out-of-province commercial vehicles to demonstrate compliance with BC
    FR requirements:
    • The vehicle owner or lessee’s insurance company has filed a Financial ResponsibilityCertificate with ICBC or
    • The operator purchases ICBC Basic insurance coverage sold in conjunction with aNon-Resident Commercial Permit.
