From my time dealing with CRSTy I have to disagree as alot of companies; like CRE, are just trying to pull out the most dollars they can from drivers and extended training cuts into that.

With that being said any good driver will tell you although experienced he/she is still a student because once you stop learning you'll kill yourself or to a worst extent someone else.

Oh no - I thought you were kidding, but apparently not. If they're not up to scratch, don't send them out - if USX has a problem with it, they'll put somebody else on the job - at least it won't be on your conscience . . .

I used to be a trainer a while back when I was with Swift. One time I had a student who made it through the 6 week process just fine. Smart guy, tons of life experience and seemed like he had plenty of common sense. And most importantly he was a #### good driver when he was on my truck. He wound up getting assigned the same DM I had and when I stopped by our home terminal a month later I asked about him. My DM told me "Joe's not here anymore"... Turns out he had 3 accidents in the first 3 weeks after getting off of my truck. All of them left-turn accidents.
My point is there's only so much a GOOD trainer can do for a student driver. This job just isn't for everyone and you can't always predict how a new driver is gonna do on his/her own.

I was looking at what I saw to be a whole lot of room, it does appear he could have swung wider and if need be, climb over the tiny (low) curbing.
