been with usa 4 3 yrs. heres the scoop;
the maintenance dept. sux. u will always have problems with your truck. when u try 2 get repairs, the mechs will say it is either fixed or they cant find a problem. (most of the time your truck will probably b n worse shape than when u got there). never go 2 a terminal 4 repairs at the end of the mo. they wont even fix a bald tire. once, they tried 2 have a steer tire patched( illegal). at the first of the mo. they will fix anything, even things not broke. if the maintenance dept. can blame u 4 something they will.
the miles r there if u arent late 2 appts. and have a good attitude.
after a couple of yrs. they will try 2 force u out unless u r a trainer.
bottom line- usa ok 4 2 yrs. if u can deal with truck problems. last truck i had, had only 35000 miles on it; apu didnt work, cruise didnt work, side mirrors didnt work. that was it 4 me. time 2 move on
usa- the whole story

My cruise needed help, you had to tap the brakes if it didn't initially work, which was 90% of the time. One time had a small hole in the trailer mudflap, Memphis terminal stopped me at the fuel isle and changed it, new one fell off in Mobile Alabama.

Heck, at least you got an apu. My icon doesn't seem work work worth a &*#$. Getting tired of waking up in an icebox, good thing Spring is just around the corner
My beast has got about 420,000 on it so I'm probably getting a new truck in less than a year (but I'm not holding my breath). The only problem with getting a new truck, though, is that I prefer manuals; automatics aren't my thing, especially when you're hauling 44,000 lbs up a 7% grade (lucky to maintain 25 mph on the interstate in that situation with the rig I got now). Trailer maintenance isn't as bad as it once was but you'll still run into some beat-down boxes that could screw you on a D.O.T. inspection (I still say they should retire anything with a number older than 54xxx).
I will say this, though: if you've got a legitimate beef (and you don't cop an attitude) you can usually get someone to at least listen. Whether on not something gets done about it may be another story, though. My dispatcher's been good about giving me miles, but I think that's because I'm a newer driver to the company (and therefore cost less per mile).
Getting a little sick of running the Northeast. It's like a black hole up here; once you get dispatched up north you stay there, often for quite a while. Wouldn't mind running out West but I guess the company's got to go where the freight is, right? -
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD... YOU'RE NOT WRITING A #### TEXT MESSAGE. IT'S NOT HARD TO WRITE "to, for, you, be"
Jesus Christ.
It just TYPE IT OUT.
I don't like getting into grammar and spelling wars online because not everybody has the same grasp of the English language and I'm fine with that, but for the love of all that is Holy, just spell out the #### words so it's easy for us to read...
Cooper09, deadhead1001, bigmikectn and 2 others Thank this. -

The company knows you're new, the company assumes you will not ##### about being stuck up there for a while because you're new, and the company will take advantage of you because you are new.
There are two things you can do about it:
1). Put up with it for as long as they wanna mess with you, and wait for "your turn" to not be the new guy any more.
2). Or get a freak'n back bone, and straight up tell your dispatcher "enough is enough, time to switch it up a little, got the northeast pretty much 'down', let's move the F*** on". -
LOL I used to drive for them, I live in the North East, and they could NEVER get me home on time.
"Sorry, there's nothing going that way"
Really? REALLY? -
