Well, I hope you are right and that's what he does but as of right now I don't see it happening. The selection of students I've seen lately has been so poor I'm almost to the point of not training anymore. The new training program is a big step backwards, and nobody in the training dept want to return a voicemail, an email, or a QComm message. If you want to get ahold of someone to discuss an issue you have to play the oops I hit the wrong option game and ask to get transferred there.
The required amount of training hours has been reduced to become competitive with other training companies in an attempt to grab more students, but the problem is you are pushing students through, not spending time to properly train them. Which explains a lot of the damaged and not properly maintained equipment.
There is nothing wrong with hiring trainees, but you really need to spend the time and money to train them.

You also have to consider that most of the students are just here out of needing work and really don't have any interest or desire to do this job. How much time and money should be spent on training somebody that probably doesn't want to do the job anyway?

I'm pretty sure that the increase in collisions and other accidents are a result of the geographic areas they appear to be heavily concentrating on (east coast / north east). Those areas are just an invitation to disaster.

That I believe is a good part of it, coupled along with the new training program and the lack of good trainers. They don't want to pay them anymore either, so if you have just a few months holding a steering wheel without out hitting anything you qualify.

Good week vs Bad week at USA truck. Consistent miles + consistent freight = consistent paychecks ? 3482 Miles vs 2073 miles. I guess the OP was right.
