Miles are great as long as you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. If not you will notice them deteriorating real fast. MOST DMs are great, but there are a couple I've had Id like to see thrown out into the street. Hometime is up to you. Meaning if you are persistant about reminding them you will get home ontime if possible. If you take it casually, they will casually get you home. That doesn't mean call and cuss because you aren't headed that way. Just start reminding them in plenty of time to get you there.
Breakdown? Keep your truck in good shape and don't let the non dot things worry you and you'll make lots of money. If you are constantly in the shop because you are too lazy to check the oil and other things , then you reap what you sow if you know what I mean.

Layover? If you take care of your DM by consistantly doing you job, he will take care of you without asking.
Please don't come here thinking because we have paper logs you can run wild. The trucks we have are tattle-tale trucks and your logs need to match what the truck says within reason. Especially on the 10, and 11 hour rules.

What does it take to get into one of usa trucks kenworth or peterbilt tractors? Do they still have the kw and petes? Its not a big deal Im just partial to the kenworth and petes lol. Is the company on the right track after weeding out the management and is the company really moving towards wanting to be a more experienced driver company? Thanks for your time and info...

There's not too many KWs or Petes left. Those that are have autoshifts. Everything is going to Freightliner at the current time. Maxx force engines suck in the prostars. I did hear that we may get a few prostars with the new cummins engine in them, but haven't seen them yet. To me, as long as the truck runs and climbs a hill ill drive it.
New management has brought the company around a long way. Empty trucks are few, driver retention is longer than it has been in quite a while. Losses are diminishing, and as I said earlier, miles are great.
