A guy I know drove six years ago and quit. when he came back he went to USA. They had him go through CDL school. USA probably has a period of time which they believe constitutes where a driver returns to service. Ya best call and find out.

Its really hard to say since the training dept has been so inconsistant on anything they do lately. My guess is you'll come to orientation and take a few test, both road and written. the outcome will determine how much time with a trainer you'll spend. Anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. Good Luck!DE36535 Thanks this.

I just moved from a training fleet to a permanent fleet. I had reservations about my miles dropping off. Many told me they would. It is too early to tell for certain, but miles appear to be increasing. (thumbs up)

Thats what they say in orintation when you get youre perm fleet miles get better but you right ezmed time will tell

Its my understanding that they (the training dept) is becoming a little tougher on new recruits before they send them out with a trainer. Supposedly eliminating all but 10 of the supply schools and expecting the students to actually be able to handle the truck (including backing) before the can upgrade. YIPPEE! If they give me a student that has some ability to start with it makes it soo much easier to train. And actually expecting them to be able to back up before upgrading them might eliminate a few accidents also...lol
Ohh yeah, almost forgot.. all upgrades are being done in VB only.. Good!Thomas0810 Thanks this. -
I thought they were upgrading in west memphis now?
-
Not the message I got. There may be orientation there, not sure. But unless they changed their minds again as of last weekend all upgrades were to be done at Van Buren. Problem is getting a load there to drop your student off. Had to make special arraingements for mine since they couldn't find a load headed that way and then back for my hometime.I really don't know why we are having trouble finding those loads. When I first started training everything happened at VB and getting there was never much of a problem. Now all of a sudden a load there is an endangered species.

I heard they may start upgrades at atlanta
-
That would be miserable for any student to be dropped off at Atlanta for upgrade.. too much traffic and no room in the yard. Oh wait.... what yard.... I guess the goal would be, if you can get into and out of the fuel island with a trailer, you pass.Klatu Thanks this.

I was there watching upgrade. You come in the yard, turn right, loop around and straight back into the spot. I was like REALLY??? That's it!!!
