You are all company kissers, I have the hard data to prove what I am talking about, I do spread sheets on all my downtime, all my hours driven, miles driven, I have been dot inspected level 1, on 3 separate occassions, no violations, I run legal and safe no accidents, and I watch some of these new drivers out here that drive for our compant and they should not be anywhere near a truck. You can say I am complaining, or whatever you want, but simple fact is you give an inexperienced driver almost 10 mph more and there will b more accidents and tickets.

And to address your saying I have a negative attitude, no I dont towards the company, I like working here just some of the people that have been brought in are destroying this company. And it feels like its on purpose, we did not have the probs we have now 5 months ago and that coincides with the hiring of hartline.

I honestly do not feel i am a "company kisser" as alleged.I dont spend alot of time worrying about the things i have no control over.I work 5 days a week and i go home for 2.I do my job the best i can every day i am behind the wheel.I dont bother my fleet mgr and he doesnt bother me.I worked here in 2007 and drivers were complaining about the same things they are today. The only things i can control are running legal and picking up and delivering ontime or early and i do those things dam good.I didn get home this weekend for the first time since July did i complain ? No.I helped another driver get home which is whats its about sometimes.I ended up with 3600 miles this week.So i would say there is money to be made here.Good luck to you Bearfunky and be safe

I'm sorry, to state that people in the office "are trained to not even pick up the phone" is an unreasonable statement that is impossible to be taken seriously.

When a company is generating 440+ million in annual revenue I argue that someone is answering the phone.

As a driver I have had long waits on hold, no doubt. But come on, really??

Your previous statements are in direct opposition to your declaration that you do not have a bad attitude towards the company. However, I do not know you so I can't speak towards your attitude, I base my view on what I read, even now I have no opinion.

Change is never without some pain. Especially with a company the size of USA and the volume of rookie drivers. I don't know Mr. Hartline, yet I think that his hiring was not a random shot in the dark. From talking to veteran drivers (15+ year folks), USA has lost its way. I think folks at the top recognize that, coupled with the changing economy, they are making changes.

From a drivers perspective we don't have the same view as the people at the top so it is unreasonable for drivers to try and second guess decisions being made without the benefit of the same view. But we do have avenues to state our concerns as to what is working and what is not working to key people in an effort to try and help guide things from the field. That process is working.

I am not a kisser, company or otherwise. I just can't stand it when people scream against the rain just because they can't explain it OR offer an explanation that is not thought out or insults basics intellegence.

As for speed causing accidents and tickets; those items are drivers responsibility, USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH GOOD JUDGEMENT WE CAN CONTROL THOSE THINGS.......no?

No company suck-up here, just a driver who really did do research. When my first year was up I realized that I had completed my obligation and was "free to go", no strings attached. So why the hell am I still here?

Well, looking into other companies I soon came to a realization; every last one of these places has issues!!! The best way to find the perfect trucking company is to just get out of the career altogether, because that beast almost doesn't exist. Otherwise all you can really do is look for the lesser of all the evils out there, and USA doesn't score as badly as you might think in that respect.

My dad always told me that you can't use your mouth and your ears at the same time, and I think that also applies here. If you'd stop whining for a second you'd probably see that some changes are indeed coming this way. For example you may have noticed a certain Qualcomm messqge we received a day or two ago about being turned up if our mpg, idle times and safety records are up to snuff. And did our average miles per week not improve after most of the bugs were ironed out of the TMW system (I know mine did)? And, honestly, how many other companies out there have an open door policy with their executives - and actually honor it?

My point is that this place, despite needing some improvements here and there (badly), is really not that awful. Don't take my word for it, though; do your own research and take a real good look at the alternatives. What you find may surprise you.

Apparently he didn get that qualcomm message.I stated i received the same message and he didn respond.I ran 3600 miles last week.Best week i have had in a good while. They have a great open door policy which i got to experience first hand two weeks ago.I was amazed at how fast i got a response from Mr Hartline himself regarding a e mail i sent to Cliff to make them aware of something.Mr Hartline called me on a Saturday to find out what the scoop was and then i received another phone call from a VP in a different department regarding the same issue that same morning.

The best way to rate a company is to look at the company turn over rates. USA Truck is not alone with high turn over rates, the company I am with now has one too. Unfortunately these stats are not published and it's next to impossible to avoid hyperbole in this regard. However there are some companies that don't have high turn over rates you can get an idea who they are by doing some basic research. Most of these companies are generally small and most require at least 2 years OTR experience, their CSA 2010 scores are good. There is one near my home I am hoping to one day get hired on with. They are paying near .50 a mile and the drivers I have spoken with tell me they average 2800 miles a week.

As for as USA Truck goes, I pray daily things there get better. There are many people in Van Buren that deserve no less. I'm of the opinion this won't happen with Clif Beckham at the helm, but I hope I am wrong. I talk to a lot of USA Truck drivers at various places and honestly most don't seem happy. However the same can be said of the company I drive for now. So I guess this and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee at your local Pilot.

You are correct in one other regard, any driving job for any company is for the most part what you make it to be. I for example could never do flatbedding. I would fall off a flatbed trying to tarp a load, and I know if I did try doing this I would be miserable. I have however begin to love pulling a reefer. I feel I do a good job and the delays at these grocery warehouses are mind numbing, but I seem to have adapted some. I also have gotten used to the reefer starting and stopping during the night.
