USX drivers...how's your day??

Hey! Don't dis Blaine. I have spent lots of time there while crossing the border into Canada. When I was young, the drinking age in British Columbia was 19 so we could buy beer there.

 

We had such an amazing four days with the family. Our youngest son graduated from high school and lots of family in town.

So nice to be rolling. Running a Coors load to Chicago, we will drop at the Markham Terminal and then we have a pre-assign from Rock Island IL to Kent WA. Very nice.

Praying for the people of Joplin MO. We stayed the night at the Flying J in Joplin last week and it no longer exists. What an aweful storm and they are getting more nasty weather today.

 

I have a quick ? Ive heard some talk about hard copy cdl. is that your license the stat isuses. going to ort in tunnel hill wed. Just a bit confused about that

hi anna glad you made it home safely. saw some videos on youtube of joplin...my prayers go out to them. i know what they are going through our townships here in nc was hit hard as well back in april. i was actually on the road in school ...it was me, my instructor and 3 classmates had to take cover. that was a crazy day.

I've been getting to this point sence last oct. some day ill tell you the story. just hope to get thru orientation.

 

One more ? Craig. do you have to do a pretrip when you do your road test?

 

things have changed so much after i did my upgrade that i don't know if they make you or not, back when i did i didn't have to show them a pretrip just told them i would do one.

but back then they had just started the map reading test, i was the first one at OKC to take it. funny as heck the ? was route a trip from point a to point b, so i did and wrote it down the same way we get the routing (just a list of freeways) no north/south east/west no exit #, they said i failed so i asked why and they said that just a list of freeways wouldn't tell you where you were going...? my trainer and i both told them that THAT IS HOW WE GET R ROUTING...! had to take them out to the truck and showed them, both lady's couldn't beleave that is all we got for routing
i passed....

 

Pre trip is verbal. The instructor took me and the guy I tested with around the truck asking us different things we'd check. It's not as in depth as the cdl test. we took turns doing sections. Real quick and easy. Road test was simple. My partner went first, we left the terminal, hopped on the interstate drove to the next exit, got off and drove around a bit. Swapped and I drove back. You test in an auto.

 

Great info guys. Thanks alot. Been going overeverything and packing allday,and checking the net for info. I'm leaving tomorow at 12 noon. I'm driving down im just 2.5 hrs away.
