    Hello
Can someone gives me an idea how are vanguard trailers are? We have only utilities and never had other Reefer trailer. I got an offer 2015 Vanguard with SB 230 Thermoking for $51 000.
I would appreciate it if you guys can help me. How the body is, How it keeps the temp, and ... What is the big difference with Utility?
    Thank you

Look at them on Truckpaper. Ones I've seen look to have quality construction. Like composite floors, not wood underneath reefer floor. Lots of insulation, etc. I think they're made in USA, just google em and research.

I have one. 2010. Tk sb 210. It is a decent unit but I'd say use it for produce and not so much for frozen. The structural integrity of mine only 6 years old now is not holding up the same as great dane or utility. The floor creaks pretty good when they are loading it. It struggles to maintain -10 when outside temp is 60+. Reefer unit is in great shape according to my reefer mechanic. I can see where it must be leaking air as when I open it for delivery there is ice on the walls, but for the life of me I can't find the light from outside shining in. Some of the rivets also have ice around them on the outside.

I plan to keep this unit and use it for local produce only. I am looking to buy a heavier great dane for my frozen loads. With the heavier Tk unit also. At the end of the day I wouldn't buy another vanguard. I'd spend a few grand more and get utility or gd.

This is what Mark Floyd 630-669-9648 from ILoca answer to me, few month ago:

A new Vanguard CIMC 53' Refrigerated van with Carrier X4 7300 Refrigeration
Unit will cost $63,850.00 FET included FOB Aurora, IL. Trailers are on the
ground at the factory in Monon, IN and takes about two weeks to get Carrier
    unit added to front.

Thank you. I will keep it in Mind. I will go down there and check. We have 6 utilities in a company and all of them have been great. It comes with the Thermoking SB230. We don't haul much frozen load. I think for produce It should be good.

I was told by my alignment guy don't buy a Vangaurd. Once they go out of alignment, you might as well throw it away, he says the suspension on those are no good.

CMCI is a Chinese company who owns them. I hear they are 1000 pounds heavier than Great Dane or Utility reefers.
I had a dry van made by them it was okay. I was told by a Utility trailer dealer parts like frame rails and such had to come from China, but he was a salesman dissing on what I had to trade, lol.

That's probably true. I wrecked a door hinge once. Had to wait for new one from China.
