Seems to be some" beatin around the bush" here . Seems like everyone is asking a simple question, Did you refuse to take the drug test ? I am curious. I was reading about Prime and thinking about checking them out and now I wonder if they are really that bad or what.

Salem Witch trials.....If the man didn't want to work for Prime, he did the right thing. If he, and he didn't say this, was worried about a drug test; he also did the right thing. By definition, he didn't refuse anything but the job. Life goes on, folks. Some of these folks should have their own advice column or reality show. So freak'n perfect about every topic.

they are worth checking out. they do things a bit different than most. their training is more like OJT and they do pay you for it but it lasts longer than most. they seem to have a good per mile pay but their trucks are set really slow so you don't get as many miles in in a day. They also make you pay for your mistakes out of your pocket.... thats a big one that I don't like. If you're lease thats one thing but as a company driver that should be on the companys dime.

Never got to that point. Upon hearing that my cpap machine was not satisfactory (no data card), my blood pressure was too high (tested me after they informed me about the cpap machine), my physical pretty much ended there, I just sorta left without telling anyone.

ugh, for all the good in these Forums that there is, i really wish all the "druggie" witch hunters that come out of the woodwork anytime anyone even mentions a drug test would go find something better to do. it's almost like they come on the forums every day and search for the words "drug test" then start b####ing.

What is the specific reason you decided to leave orientation? I'm confused, after reading the posts I can't quite figure out "WHY" you bolted out the door....?

Just curious because I was looking at PRIME.

Maybe all the ones asking about which test is done at certain companies ( nothing to do with their RIGHTS ) or if there is a way to beat the test could go with them to find better things to do and take the ones wondering why their DRUG CONVICTIONS are hampering their employment options :)

During the first day of Swift orientation the leaders reached a point in the morning when they made a VERY clear announcement that, "Now is the time for anyone that doesn't want to take the drug test to LEAVE. If you stay after this announcement and come back after the break, then we will note you as present. If you leave after you are noted present and then leave, it will be noted as a refusal to take the drug test."

There were a handful of people that didn't show up after the break (which begs the question of why folks would go through all the hassle to get to an orientation when they know or think they might fail a drug test).

The bottom line is whether or not a similar announcement was made during Prime's orientation, or whether they even have such a time of demarcation before you are committed to take the drug test or else have it noted as a refusal to take a drug test.

Based on your OP it seems that you have some quibbling doubts whether you may have "crossed the line" into that commitment. My understanding is that refusing to take a drug test is pretty much equal to failing a drug test. If I were in your shoes and having doubts or second thoughts about whether you may have been committed to take the test, then call the folks that run their orientation... NOT the recruiter. Confirm with them whether they noted you as refusing a test.

If nothing else, this thread is a prime (pun intended) example of the need to thoroughly research a company prior to taking a 13 hour bus ride to work for them.

Even as a student, if your only option for employment is a 13 hour bus ride you probably need to rethink your career choice or you didn't do enough research in the first place. I guarantee there are better options closer to where you live if you work hard enough to find them.

True, I have been here a year and a half, and not one person has asked me to lease. I have been asked twice, to train, but I made it clear that I had no interest in being a trainer.

Next time take the drug test, then walk out.
