Imagine that. Park where you're not supposed to and get a ticker.

What are you going to do when a shipper ships to Walmart and the only way you can get it there at the scheduled time is to get there at the end of your clock. Are you going to tell them "sorry, but I can't deliver to you on time because I need to come in with a fresh clock"? It happens a lot. Most places are alright with parking.

Or maybe you got there with 5 hours on your clock and it takes 5 hours to unload.

    That's a city issue.
Sounds like Wal-Mart made the effort here.

I'll also add that Wal-Mart is NOT a truck stop.
Were it not for masses of trucks strung all over the lot in lots of locations, this wouldn't be an issue.
The pavement in the lot isn't engineered to support the weight of a truck.
Or the broken curbing, tire rutted landscaping, or unsightly trash left everywhere.
    I've seen it.
They do it at my local Wal-Mart.

I'm good with an hour to shop and go.. it's not their responsibility to house us.

Now.. I wonder how they'd be received if they started having a PREPARED truck parking area, and charged $5 for an 8-10 hr stay?
    Totally reasonable fee.

I guarantee y'all would raging on them like a Wolverine on a baby chick.

I always thought that Walmart missed an opportunity by not building a truckstop with a small size Supercenter, diesel pumps, a bunch of truck parking and showers. With their buying power, they could give Love's a run for their money on fuel prices.

That's a good point, I believe, originally, it was for motorhomes and families to hang out, if need be, the truckers kind of weaseled their way in, and ruined it. I like Walmart, for my small town, it has everything we need and provides a bunch of jobs, that small towns desperately need ( ironically, that Walmart helped put out of business, but the people are happy) I don't blame Walmart one bit. Bunch of trucker crybabies.:biggrin_25512:

When Sam was alive his philosophy was truckers were welcome at any of his stores for up to 24 hours.

Granted this was some time ago, truckers were more professional and respectful. Sadly he is gone, and so is the decency of many so called professional drivers that leave behind trucker gifts in the parking lot.
