Walmart Produce OTIF Scores TL LTL

Don't hold me to this, but I'm understanding Walmart has pushed the DCs hard to reduce receiving office and unload wait times across the board as part of their taking the sting out of this new policy.

Corporate is fully aware they have earned a poor reputation among too many carriers and drivers for costly delays that are compounded with HOS rules.

Their new policy STEXAN? Or ELD policy. But its a good measure to start with, as long as its held accountable for all parties involved

 

No doubt, agreed. No signing for count quantity or load patterns lol. Its a shame, aaaaah no its not a shame that finally shippers and receivers have to low and behold change their operations after years of complaining. Finally since D-REG happened, advantage truck companies. As a 2 year o/o, 30yrs in transportation, finally get to see advantage to drivers

 

Greg Smith. New VP Wal-Mart Logistics. He runs everything that gets a product from a vendor to the store dock.

That includes all DCs, Private Fleet, Contract Carriers, supplemental carriers, and maintenance groups.

Part of his focus is on inbounding freight. He wants zero detention spend. That should mean quicker times for carriers at the HVDCs.

 

That would be nice to see across the board with all outfits. Im on paper logs, exempt, but the sitting waiting has got to stop. Everyones about effeciency and productivity until the truck shows up. It gives me 2 ways to do my rates, it works out.

 

Last load I hauled for that low life bunch. 1994 and if and when He$$ freezes over, and they pay triple pay, free food and drinks. I might think about hauling a load for that bunch.
