Well, at least WE pays their drivers. Not very much, but some. I'd stay away from 1099 companies.

The greater evil is 1099, but the fire in either is hot enough to let you know you’re in hell.

    Well said, guys, thanks.
I think if those were the op's only 2 options he should probably wait a minute before getting a cdl.

The ticket for the registration isn't an issue, it is like a lack of insurance ticket, but over 15, well consider that right now is an employment market on the side of the carrier, too many drivers out there to choose from and those who are having ticket issues are the drivers working for crap companies and making little money.

    So what to do?

Well, maybe getting a lawyer involved, reopening the case, and having a judge either reduce the ticket or make a deal for some restitution to get it off your record as a conviction. The ticket will show up no matter what but it is the outcome of adjudication that matters.

1099 companies are the far greater evil. I've been to both and it isn't even close in my opinion. Lol

If Western will take him, he should go ahead and do it. He may not make much the first year(who does?) At least he will have a decent check if he learns their system. In that time, he will gain something that will benefit him in the long haul: experience.
