You and 'highspeed1972' are correct. While many companies lie as a matter of course, it's 'how' they lie these days: lying by omission.

What you went through is a much lighter version of what happened to my at Hunt Transportation (April 2013). At Crete / Shaffer / Hunt, they ambush you with insane requests of meaningless information. They tell you that you have to provide the requested information or you will not be hired!!! After they hire you on the phone, you are told in the so-called orientation, they won't hire you until after you provide the meaningless information. Huh? Why ambush a driver this way? Example: What is the name of the nurse that wrapped your ankle when you hurt it several years ago? Really? The insurance company does not care about anything more than 2 years old, why does anyone care?

The stupid questions kept coming. Insurance, previous employers and many other things come up during the week. I had to wait for them to do all their background checks and checking previous employers, etc., for 3 weeks before orientation. By Friday afternoon, I still had no answer for 3 moronic questions, so I told them good by and went home.

If we are not qualified for some idiotic reason, why bring us to Omaha, NE?

Ah yes, instead of five to one, it's now five to two.
Which way will the scales sway as time marches on?
Since many Conway drivers can't even afford a computer, perhaps we'll all have to wait a bit until they move up a bit on their career choice, like maybe when they're cleaning restroom stalls at the bowling alley for minimum wage.

roflao. that's funny. really, $600 a week take home not bad for company drivers. It may not be my first go with trucking companies. but then the post is set-up to help drivers understand what they are getting into before they go to orientation with con-way. there's nothing worse then being left in the dark. and then showing up unprepared. and finding out the truth at the last minute. if they would of been upfront with me from the start. then there wouldn't been a problem. am I ######## about what they did? noooooo....... do I really even care? nooooooooooo... do i believe in letting other know what to expect from a trucking company? sure do..... why? because people want the truth the first time.. also want to know what they need for the company they are looking at. or if it's worth the trouble.

You want answers? You think your entitled?
"You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a darn what you think you're entitled to!

you are talking about something that has nothing to do with the thread. and you are trying to twist it around to where it looks like something else. the point of view i made. if there misleading a driver on something as simple as the background check the were suppose of done prior to orientation. and they have customers that deal in national security related freight. and they didn't even do what they said they did in the application and background check prior to orientation. I don't know about you or any one else in this world. I am not going to knowing go work for some one that mislead me on the starting part of the job. and the last thing I am going to do. is let them put me into situation that involves certain government parties. and if it gets messed it my butt that's screwed. and the boss is more worried about saving his own butt. yea, I don't want to spend my life locked in a little room over some else's mistake. broke and unemployed and free. is better then broke, unemployed and lock in a cage. so you see son!!!! it has nothing at all about what you think it does. the truth, in trucking is: when things go wrong. you are on your own with no help or support. as your little sane. a opinion is not a hate crime. maybe not but the actions from it. can be a crime.

    Lighten up.
It's Jack Nicholson's rant from A Few Good Men.
I'm ever so sorry that you were wronged.
    I'm sure you were.

What actions exactly can come from my simple opinions that ever can be a crime?
Ps that's off topic of this thread.
