Well, looks like I'm going OTR in a day cab.

I was using that Dat app a long time ago. I never found it useful but I'll check it out again.

And I'm off. Sitting in Fernley, NV for my 30. I have never driven a day cab before and when I check my right side mirror I can see the trailer out the rear window and it keep freaking me out, lol.

Truck is new, handled Donner fine so no complaints there. I'm worried about my truck though. I think it has to go to the dealer which means I'll be retired before I see it again.

Wait till you scale. You'll put up to the box naturally without realizing your steers and drives are on the same platform.

There's never any leg room in the daycabs I've driven.

When i drove a day cab from sac to denver. I drove from sac to utah there is a hotel on exit 99 in utah across the street from the flying j. Slept there and then the next day drove all the way to denver. Then exit like 120 or so SLC there is a few hotel choices with good truck parking.

But i assume by now you have it all figured out.

P.s wyoming was fun with a day cab. Big ups to the guys hauling light pups through there.

You might just be spoiled rotten by the time you get back...like me!

    No "blind side".

Only stay at Holiday Inn Express (or equivalent) hotels.

Decent grub can usually be found close to the hotel for dinner...and the hotels I stay at have a pretty decent spread for breakfast, too.

Rough day? Spring for a jacuzzi suite and relax in the hot tub. Or, get a regular room and make use of the pool or fitness room.

WiFi and more TV channels than you can shake a stick at.

Desk and a comfortable chair to do your paperwork and plan the next day.

    COMFORTABLE beds.

    Friendly staff.

Clean, private restroom right there in the room...no putting your boots on and walking across a parking lot to S, S, & S in the morning.

Unless you ENJOY sleeping in a closet-sized room in a parking lot that smells like pee, well, I just don't see ANY downside to daycabbing.

This week is a bad time for me to have to walk. I'm suffering from a bad case of gout and walking is very difficult for me. Couple that with the fact that I have to carry all my crap and it's hell. At least this hotel has a bathtub so I can soak my foot.

I've been sleeping in a truck for so long that I legitimately have a hard time sleeping out of it. Plus, all my stuff is there and I know where everything is. I have food, water, my clothes and entertainment. I hear what you guys are saying but I prefer my truck. Also, I have spent a good deal of money turning my mattress into the very ideal of comfort and I miss it.

Wind wasn't too bad today surprisingly. Drove from Wells, NV to Cheyenne. I have the truck parked at the J and I'm here at the quality inn. Guess It will be Dennys for dinner.
