I wouldn't like doing OTR in a day cab tractor and sleeping in it because no motel rooms allowed.
Schneider needs to get their crap together on that.

Chi Town Steers and firemedic2816 Thank this.

Just to clarify -- while part of their intermodal fleet, I (& the other intermodal drivers who weren't home daily) drove in sleeper cabs.

Same thing -- when I ran Schneider OTR.

Not really sure why Chi Town is in a day cab.

Maybe they just don't like him?....:p :dontknow:

Well to be fair I think they hate all their drivers equally. If they could go driverless today I’m sure they would in a second.

Why did they put me in a day cab, because someone who’s never driven a truck has a computer that told them to put me there. An underpaid, overworked, mostly useless employee decided. There was no thought put into it. Just a computer saying this is the most profitable thing for the company at this moment in time.

And you could have said no when you first saw the truck.

You could say no right now, as a matter of fact.
You could say... I have had enough of this and you will give me a truck I can actually sleep in.

    Numb Thanks this.

With Schneider dry van -- your time out on a trainer's truck will be SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTER than the others you mentioned.

I was out with a trainer there for less than a week.

With Schneider's tanker fleet -- this is probably not the case.

Yes but I’m not going to fight with them. They’re probably used to desperate drivers with little experience who say yes to everything because they don’t know any better. I quit and my next job pays 50% more. That’s not hard to explain.
