I lived in Louisiana for 2 years. I was really surprised by the secondary roads, very narrow with deep ditches on each side. A native told me that the dirt from the ditches was thrown into the middle to build up the road and the deep ditches go to the nearest bayou for drainage.

    Just passing by Thanks this.

It was snowy, I parked in mud but I thought it was concrete under the snow in the middle of no where. Woke up left my hotel room and had to wait 8 hours for a winch out from a heavy wrecker, just went back to bed and waited lol.

Forgot to put fuel cap on, made a mess.

Listened to my dispatcher at my old job when I was in my first week driving. Didn’t know a thing about anything. I drove a grease rig. Told me I could fit the whole route in and not be overweight. I came back at 109k pounds. Like 72k is the limit because they were 33 foot trailers.

I dropped my loaded 44ft flat bed trailer on fri. at the tire recaper to have a tire put on that I had fixed, but shop boy had lowered it down where my 1977 W/STAR 4 spring could not get under it on mon., I found him and told him if they wanted the 750$ I owe them he better get it up hi enough for me to hook up he turned that short handle till he gave up I found a pick axe and dug a slot for my tires to run down where I got under it, they said not to drop trailers on the lot any more, I put my patched tire on an got out of there fast

Dropped a trailer couple times. Luckily I managed to catch it, before it hit the ground.

I almost dropped a trailer. You will know when it comes loose, cause it makes a commotion like you've never felt. Guess get lucky if your reflexes are good enough.
Nothing damaged. No harm, no foul. Was loaded too. Crank your nuts off getting it up to hook it.
High hooked twice. Same thing, crank your nuts off to get it up high enough to get out from under it.
All 3 of those were as a very seasoned driver, when I was dropping & hooking a lot doing all local deliveries of line hauls for guys.

Sorry - I could have worded it better. I’ll never ‘use’ a spotter - I’ll help out any other way, maybe spot someone else if I have to -

Problem is, if he’s just not a good driver and misses a signal from me or slips off the clutch and damages some other guys truck . . . I’d rather not be involved to begin with.

Dan.S, Feedman and Maj. Jackhole Thank this.
