In New Mexico you cannot shift in a turn, you cannot shift or change lanes over tracks, you cannot hit a single curb and of course, any screw up on the brake tests will fail you immediately.
Edit: Also coasting the length of the the truck and trailer is a fail in NM.Last edited: May 20, 2017

so start in second go to third and then do the turn got it

Then we have the right turns on red, when we are driving around with the instructors, we can make a right on red, but I was told, do that with an Examiner and they will likely fail you, they want you to wait for it to be green, the Examiners see it as a safety issue.Last edited: May 20, 2017

I took a road test for Penske years ago. One automatic failure for them is waiting for traffic to clear before making a left turn, and then making the turn under a yellow light.

That sucks what if there is a lot of traffic?
-
I guess you're supposed to stay back out of the intersection.

expert tip: make sure you don't show up to the road test high on weed. this will result in an automatic failure and your likely arrest.
Lonesome, mindes and UsualSuspect Thank this. -
Also, many places don't like it if you "float the gears". Use the clutch pedal.
