Riding/driving with the trainer are the only chance you get to learn all procedures & procedures for doing this job. Don't be so eager to cut down on that training. -

May has dry vans, but sometimes they use reefers for dry-van hauls. When I worked for them it was about half-and-half between reefers and dry vans. They haul a LOT of warm beer out of Golden CO in dry vans.

The reviews I read tend to say it is a good to great starter company. Pay is low, but to be expected as a starter. Other than that there are no consistent beefs and lots of reviewers highly recommend them as a starter company. Won’t run you harder than you are comfortable with, that sort of thing.
There are the same sort of one star reviews that all starter companies get excoriating them but that just seems to be part of the landscape for starter companies. -
