Worst load of my tanker experience was an antifreeze load, 5000gal in a 7000gal tank. The surge was a #####, I had to go from Los Angeles area to San Jose. At the end dispatch says well now you know why nobody wants that load. Lol

No big deal whatsoever. The surge is all bark and no bite. I'm sure it could mess you up but I've just gotten in tune with hauling liquid.
It's everybody else you have to watch for on ice, just like pulling anything else.
Another thing about tanks is there excellent resistance to wind. I used to HATE wind when pulling vans and reefers. Loaded not so much, but empty they can be a handful. Tanks are easy in wind, loaded or empty, 50-60 mph winds from any angle have little effect on handling.newshoes, FLYMIKEXL, Just passing by and 2 others Thank this. -
This is very true I use to pull doubles the worst of the worst across I-80 in Wyoming, it was freaking hell. I'd take a tank any day over that in the wind.Just passing by and Dna Mach Thank this.

I used to haul Macy's loads out of Houston for a previous company. Two stops in Denver and ONE friggin pallet to Seattle! I don't think I ever once crossed Wyoming without either a long delay due to light trailer advisories or almost getting blown over once or twice. Never pulled a tank across I-80 but would have no problems doing so.
