What are the worst parts of the job?

#1 is a load of crap. Been local for over a decade now and the only time I'm running on little or no sleep is when I chose to stay up late. Otherwise, I'm off for at least 10 hours here at home (usually 12-14)...plenty of time to be properly rested before hitting the road again.

 

Being out between towns on I80 in Wyoming and having diarrhea.

 

You’re right, I should have qualified that first statement. If you have two small kids and work local like my situation, you get less sleep than if you were OTR while still running OTR miles. Sure wasn’t a load of crap today, 600 miles and three stops on less rest than I would like but I had 300 miles to my first stop and an 8 am appt.

The industry is what you make of it... we have every sort of personality out here and each has their own opinion based on their circumstances which can be changed if a person so desires...

 

Poster was a one-hit wonder. Pajama Boy. He already lost interest in joining any workforce.

The worst part is when I take hometime and have to pay for my own fuel for my car and clean my own bathroom. Also being limited to what one city has to offer instead of enjoying the whole country.

 

It really doesn't matter what kind of job you have when that kind of gastric distress hits you... Carpenter up on a ladder... Brain surgeon in the middle of a procedure... Preacher 3 minutes into his Sunday sermon

 

But, other than that, it's a blast!
