Why do you want to run 70? There are things way more important than running 70. If an applicant said he wanted a 70 mph truck I would respond with “There’s the door. Don’t let it hit you in the arse on the way out.” Might just be me though.

You must not pay your drivers by the mile.

I'm sure he does, but he also pays for fuel. His trucks, his rules.

AD Transport Express from MI has pretty fast trucks. Had one pass me the other day and my ACC radar on my truck said he was doing 73.

Just because you can do 90 doesn’t mean you go 90.

It’s nice to be able to hit it for a mile or two and get away from a pack of old people or Swift’s. I was doing 77 the other day doing just that and got passed by a log truck doing at least 85.

Not everyone has the mega mentality where fuel cost is the #1 concern. Trucks still haul ### around here.

No doubt, but surely he can understand why a CPM driver is concerned with governed speed...unless he pays by the hour.

Agreed 100%. It's less stressful to drive a truck that you know can get you out of a bad situation when the time comes. Share the road...don't hog it with a truck that can't get out of it's own way.

Oh yeah. I couldn’t go back to a 62 mph truck like I used to drive now that my trucks all have their nuts still.

Give me the most raggedy truck as long as I can go at least 75 I’ll be a happy man. I’m home most days anyways so I’d rather have a pos daycab with a strong engine than something new with no power.

We have internationals and Columbias they aren’t cool but at least they can move and they actually have big series 60s in them. The owner has a thing for that motor.
