A good friend and myself are talking about getting our CDL and start team driving. I had my CDL three years ago and drove for USA truck. But since I let it expired and so I need to do it all over again. We are looking for company paid training. So all that said, what company would you suggest? We are looking at Prime or Swift. I see Prime you need to be with your trainer for 4-6 months before getting first seat.
Thank you,
What company for Team driving for newbies

CRST would be the quickest, cheapest with only an 8 month obligation.
After that you can work for these companies running coast to coast teaming.
Benny Whithead Trucking
WLA Inc.
Cooke Trucking Company
Hardy Bros. Inc
& several othersblairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I team with hubby... We are with Central Refrigerated... So far so good (3 years now)... It's a better proposition for us though, all money goes in one account, instead of splitting it.
blairandgretchen and highvoltage Thank this. -
Does Central Refrigerated pay pretty good for teams ? I have been looking at US Xpress. Do you know which is the best company for newbies.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

on par with other 'starter' companies... We have found them OK to work for... Straight forward in what they want and expect. Same hiccups as any other companies, but they have worked with us to retain us... They have also rehired two other couples/teams that I know of that looked for greener pastures and came back... That says a lot right there to me.blairandgretchen and dennisroc Thank this.

Look into Conway Truckload also.

Wife & I team at US Xpress. We're overall happy here. Miles are good as long as you get on a dedicated account.
Teams here get a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia. They've been buying automatics & 10 Speeds.
Since you live in Alabama, you would go to the Tunnil Hill, GA terminal. Orientation is 2 and a half days. You get your truck & off you go. -
I'd have a look at the 70+ reviews of CRST on 'indeed' - before looking into them.
Or the ones on here. -
4-6 months training with prime is high more like 3. I started mid August and am going in for upgrade this week. Pay during training is good after you obtain your cdl my net is usually 515 highest was 610.

Well, the company is a cheap way to get the CDL & team training and 8 months later leave for something better and be debt free.Lady K Thanks this.
