Seriously think about that,, do the math.... ungoverned trucks can drive 700-800 miles n under 10hrs at legal speed limit speeds,,, plus all the lease guys that run that retarded lease for the company I work for they all average 4300 miles a week 73mph trucks....our company truck speed limits fluctuate
What do 4,000 miles a week look like

If you average 62.5 mpg, and run 3,500 miles in 7 days, that means that you are driving 8 hours a day, leaving 30 minutes of on duty time for pretrips, fueling, customers, etc. Running paper, no problem. Running an AOBR, challenging, but doable - and I certainly wouldn't want anyone looking at my logs too closely. With an ELD - not a chance.
Even uping the speed of the truck doesn't help that much once you take into account traffic , construction , weather, etc.
Even as a company driver I don't care about miles - I care about what I get paid. Short hauls can pay more than long runs.

Company driver here and it all pays the same miles are miles, load distance is irrelevant,,, unless your a owner and own everything the truck, the trailer, plates, insurance, authority

4-5k miles a week with a factory spec ECM and 3700 governed at 62.5mph.
Yup it's doable you simpleton truck drivers just need to get better at math. When I graduate High School I'm gonna come out there and show you all how it's done.diesel drinker, stwik, Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
73 is a high governed speed. Most are 68 or below.
If I were running random midwest loads in a 73 truck, even better, but not easy.
If I were running drop and hook preloaded midwest loads in a 73 truck, then 4000 miles per week would become fairly common, I think.
However, let's say you are driving 10 hours per day after PTI and fuel. That's 80 extra miles per day in a 73 over a 65 truck. 80 miles a day adds up fast.
I am not contesting that 4000 miles a week is not possible. I am not even contesting that 4000 miles a week might be fairly common in the right truck with the right freight.
But 4000 miles per week will never be easy for a solo driver that drives sanely.gentleroger Thanks this. -
Do the math. Ignore reality. Crash into stopped traffic. This is fine.Farmerbob1, sdaniel and nofreetime Thank this. -
I’ve done 3800-3900 in a 64 mpg truck but I avoided large city’s, had long runs, parked at receivers and shippers and rest areas, delivered off the clock ect. No way it’s happening on the east coast either. And then you have to reset which screws up the next week.... meaning hard to get another 3000+ week in a row.... usually a 3500 mile week with a 2500 the next week... average it out and it’s still a nice 3000 average
Now I average 2500 a week, home on weekends and a night during the week. Unless they get a stray solo load to the west coast or Laredo TX....72 mph truck and all daytime delivery’s.
Much happierFarmerbob1, gentleroger and Lepton1 Thank this. -
