Going out with the trainer tomorrow. Flat bed. I just finished packing and it seems like an appropriate amount. But what is too much and what is not enough? We should be out for at least 2 weeks.

I’ve got clean socks and drawers for every day. 2 pairs of pants and 7 shirts. Got my bedding and a pillow. All the bathroom stuff. 2 pairs of shoes, a pair of slides and my boots. Laptop and phone stuff. Resistance bands and TRx straps for work outs.

With my tool bag it ended up being 4 total bags. 1 large duffle, 1 medium duffle, 1 backpack, 1 tool bag.

After looking at it all it felt like a lot of stuff, but also felt like it was what I needed, and not much more. Is this appropriate?

I’d leave the tool bag at home until you get in your own. Possibly the workout stuff as well. Space will be tight.

Leave the tools & workout gear.
For sleep I'd bring a cheap sleeping bag & pillow.
Can you get buy without the laptop? Use your phone, less space.

Ideally a big duffle, backpack, sleeping bag & pillow. Soft luggage only you may sleep on/with it. Pray the truck has 2 bunks. I'd go with boots & shower shoes.

There will be 2 people in a space no larger than a small bathroom. Extra stuff is a curse.

Sleeping bag saved my bacon as trainer was too cheap to idle truck in freezing weather.

More than two pairs of pants. Bring shorts too. If you go into the south. Also bring long sleeve shirt, one. Some plants require Ling sleeves. You can wash your clothes on the road. I try to bring two weeks worth, but I'm by myself.

Dude, listen carefully ... take only things that you will be able to haul home by yourself.

I would just pack one medium rucksack or something like that. If you can fit the laptop in it, OK but TRAVEL LIGHT ...

But you ask why? Oh Why??

Because when you get into an accident and have to get home or get to another truck OR you get FIRED, then you don't have to drag all that crap while you walk to the bus stop.

I have a driver who learned how to properly pack one for the road, he could get an unbelievable amount of clothes and 'stuff' in a medium rucksack he had in the military, and he has additional pouches attached to it for different things. He taught a lot of people here how to do it, and taught my kid before he went into the Air Force.
