What do you call it when they customize their truck to have an extra long catwalk?

Actually, it is. Most states allow 4' off the rear of a 48' trailer. That leaves 1' you can overhang on the front before you're exceeding the 53' max trailer length most states have. Most trucks can handle 1' off the front just fine, considering the flatbeds I've pulled have had 18" kingpin settings, which means a foot and a half overhang will get you to where you'd be pulling a van.

Stretched trucks just look cool. If you're pulling oversize beams, yes, you can overhang in the front...however, you're STILL oversize.

    That's all?

I'm usually 12.5K on my steers and the 5th wheel still has room to slide forward, too.

I've got a day cab and a 240" wheel base.

I think I’d rather admit to beatin’ it to goat porn than admit to driving a Prius.

Naw, working for all three, I am partial to Ford but the C-Max I wanted to get was so plauged with problems I decided not to get anything then my wife decided that a prius was the thing. With the amount of miles I drive taking everyone to their places of enjoyment, like school and work, I put on a lot of miles so at 50 mpg, I am quite happy.

By the way, will never buy a new GM from the New GM because those who are in charge should have not been allowed to tank the stock in order to file bankruptcy. They screwed all those people, especially the long term elderly stock holders who got nothing while the execs and consultants walked away with millions.

Mines real easy to get around in. I think it's actually just 225" to the center of the tandems. People always think it's longer than it is.

I believe the east coast had two guys project 350 and 351 were at one point the two longest show trucks out there and they were cruzing all over New Jersey with what looked like no problem
