what do you do when a company blackballs you from other jobs

Check the boards for the address of DAC. Or Google. THen you you might be able to get a free copy of your DAC report, and if not, then you have to pay for one. You read through it and you can add a comment or two about your situation. All accidents are viewed differently by the company's as whos at fault or whatnot. You need to add something to this. It may help you or it may not, but you can most certainly give that a try.

 

You know, thats a very good question. Here's what I have found out. Thanks to TurboTrucker, you are entitled to one free DAC report annually. I have been blackballed by a major company. They put 3 accidents on my DAC report. I got fired for the last one, well who wouldn't when they give you 10 safety points for one alleged accident. Well that's what they did. The VP of Safety told me that he couldn't support me any more, he felt that I would be much happier with a smaller company.
Here's the irony! No one will even consider you with 3 accidents on your DAC report. I have been fighting with that Company for 4 months and finally their Accident Review Board cleared me of the last one they gave me 10 points for, and for which they fired me over. What a bunch of jerks! Even with two accidents, they still won't hire you. I guess that I'm done with Trucking, and I really loved it.

 

Would you mind telling us which "major Company" it was that fired you for an accident they later deemed as not your fault?

 

Someone said the DAC only goes back seven years.

No I don't mind telling who the company is, it is Crete! By the way, the VP of Safety there told me, when he fired me, that he was not interested in the facts. It's hard to imagine or accept these kind of statements that a person of his responsibility has made. To me it sets the tone for ANY NEW DRIVERS WITH CRETE. If you have any problems you will be FIRED! This is too bad and I was so impressed with Crete at first. Don't make any mistakes as a new driver, if you do you will be in the same position as I am.

Thanks for the response! I have followed all the steps which TurboTrucker helped me with, but USIS will not even succumb to threats of legal action. They simply tell you "THE COMPANY IS OUR CLIENT, IF YOU WANT TO DISPUTE THIS, THEN YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR PREVIOUS COMPANY."

Do you know of any good attorneys who are trucker friendly? I sure could use some leads to find one who will work with me. I have been trying to find one for over 2 months.

 

TIME TO BECOME AN OWNER OPERATOR. I will have my own company in the ner future and will not use DAC because its only used as a weapon against people.

 

Well, you write up 'their' DAC so as to record the offense they committed against the driver and then blackball them from other drivers hiring on!

Oh, wait a minute, I forgot, it's only a 1-way street where the driver gets screwed!!
