What do you the "other" 14 hours a day?

This is so true...Our Government wants it on the rail...Big investment for the Government and lots of money to be made...

Just look at the smart one JB Hunt..He is allready gearing up for it and not many OTR trucks of his around....Smart man Mr.JB Hunt...

Yep...The days of the ''long haul'' are nearing the end..No more 2 days to Cali from NY..Now they give them 5-6 days...Trains are doing it in 8-10 and for 1/2 the price...

 

I worked for a company that sent a large amount of freight, Chicago to Texas and etc.

Most of the freight went relay.

Someone would pick it up in Chicago and take to the Springfield IL area.
Another driver would swap a trailer going to Chicago and take the one to Kansas City or St Louis and do the same again.
Not one getting long miles.

 

I'm no spring chicken... and I can tell you that the "work" has very little to do with it. In the end... it all comes down to how each of us chooses to view the world in front of our eyes. Some believe this is nonsense... hence, there is little consolation found.

Everyday is a gift, it's up to you what you do with it.

 

Because he paid his dues, and found a better way. Guys like him and myself work when we want to and spend a lot of time at home instead of living in a 70" sleeper and only seeing the house every couple of months. I spent less than 90 nights in the sleeper last year and worked less than 200 days. We don't have a dispatcher, and we never hear from corporate unless we screw up or it's random drug test time.

I just got season 3 of Gay Trek on Blue Ray so what I like to do is put on my silky satin lacey mangerie thong and bowtie, of course, beach thongs, (that's all by the way) then take my DVD player in with me to the buffet so I can pork down and watch my show. I get a lot of funny looks to then I retreat to the dark confines of the TV lounge and hang out with all the good buddies.

 

I get drunk and look at porn.
