You forgot the lack of 'adequate parking in CT'

 

I've ran north,west,south and east and it gets easier each time.the reason drivers don't like n.y. or n.j. is because they hav'nt been to those areas enough times to be familiar with them.as far as people go they all seem pretty nice to me.if they are having a bad day I just stay out of their way and in time they come around.if not I just move on and try not to react to their disfunctions.

 

I live in Virginia. When I leave and go North, I heard all kinds of crap talking, on the radio. Some people will even have the nerve to call you all kinds of foul names because your in their way, or not driving fast enough for them.

When I go South, I can drive pretty much all the way to Florida, and hardly hear anything on the radio other than radar reports and the DOT.

 

Lots of no commercial vehicle zones. Can't drive on parkways. Low bridges. Traffic. Tolls. Backing down tight little narrow alleys at the risk of getting ticketed. Weird wonky docks. On-ramps with absolutely NO merging space (Boston is especially bad for this). No idling in New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey no matter the weather. Potential tickets for ice/snow on top of your trailer. Potholes and otherwise torn-up pavement. Lumpers who greet you like you're fresh meat and want to charge even if you can unload it yourself.

 

The only states in the northeast that can be difficult are northern New Jersey & Connecticut. In my opinion, the most traffic & congestion exists there. Everywhere else really isn't that bad. Most of the mountains there are actually really beautiful. 84 from Hartford to Boston is one of my favorite highways to drive on. New Hampshire and Vermont are also beautiful to drive through. I'll take driving in New England over Atlanta and all of Florida any day.

Make sure you find a safe haven by 5 pm, and be prepared to sit in a small to moderate amount of traffic, time of day pending. Other than that, you're golden.

 

What?? I can name at least seven truck stops in MA. The only places I know of where truck stops are actually banned or prohibited by excessive legislation are Martha's Vineyard and Long Island. However, on Long Island, you can stay overnight at either of two rest areas (one in Nassau and one in Suffolk) if you can find a spot that is. I personally have never had any problem finding parking anywhere in the North East. With today's technology, all you have to do is Google the words, industrial parks and the city, town or county you're in and you'll find prime canvassing of factories and warehouses. All I do is find one that's closed and back into their dock for the night... pretty easy.

 

what does that mean? canadian trucks are faster then 90!

 

Most Canadian trucks are at least 100 or better, some way better!
