Keri called me a few minutes ago. Then we face-timed. She said when they got on the ground last night she was dead on her feet tired. Got all her paperwork done and submitted and checked into the hotel and went to sleep without eating. Later this afternoon she is headed back to London. Then will return to Charlotte on flight 731 on Monday. This girl taking care of me is a fantastic cook. She made me an omelet (fake eggs again yuck) and I had some wheat toast and had a banana. I passed on the fake coffee and just drank some apple juice. I have an appointment on the 14th with my VA heart doc, Keri made it clear she was taking me. One thing we are doing (with sadness on my part) is filling out VA Form 10-0137 and VA form 10-5345 and submitting both. When the legal paperwork gets through on the adoption I can rest better knowing Keri will be secure. Keri reminded me that she already has a bit under 15 years of service with American. She plans to work another 8 or so and either retire or find a local job that lets her be home every night.

I did get a chance yesterday to have a zoom meeting with one of my Attorneys and he said everything was going OK with the adoption. He did say some of the people in the office are laughing, but they understand why I have to do this. To put this into perspective! One of my sisters will not speak to me now. I tried to make contact several days ago to ask about an issue in my hometown and she just hung up on me. The most dangerous place I know of is the space between her and a dollar bill! My new will MUST be ironclad! It also makes handling medical decisions easier once she is legally my daughter!
