Lol... Yeah that loader is probably about circa 1990. But considering its pulling roughly 1.7 million pounds it does ok.

You set it on the rail up against the car wheel, raised handle and the innards dropped flush. Hooched it in snug, then got three others to help you put weight on the handle downward. Ergo, handle went down, innards were forced up, extreme press exerted between wheel and track the car moved SOME. If on level, you just kept this up till it was where you wanted it or all hands were give out. If downgrade, needed a 4th man to wind up the manual brakes before it left. If on upgrade, you sent for the switch engine to come tomorrow.
