Honestly I think this is needed, but how is the average van driver going to remove said debris from top of the unit?

I know I wouldn't walk on the roof of most trailers cause they are not strong enough to hold me. Over the road van drivers are just out of luck.

What I have seen: some yards have a beam and broom type thing mounted over a gate. That could work for a day cab type/point to point line-haul operation.

Of course installing those at every on-ramp and state line would be "problematic"

I've seen them, but oddly enough usually blocked off because morons end up damaging them or their equipment.

Now for humor content: I'm envisioning a huge Acme brand salt shaker mounted on bungies over the driveway........

Maybe a large rope, can be tossed over the roof like a flatbedder with a strap. Roller on 1 end that hooks along side and you walk down the trailer with it?

I get asked this question a lot.
    I finally seen a video & I directed a few to it.
The questions vary but it’s usually, “Yo, Judge! I’d like to get my authority and run and be my own boss and work when I want, and go where I want and no one tells me what to do!!”

    My response,
1.)If you’re getting your numbers to work when you want, you’re doomed from the start, later you may not have to work so hard, but with insurance, truck/trailer payment waiting 30-60 days for your money, waiting the 30 days, someone at the brokerage screws up, and don’t pay you for a load,(they haven’t paid me yet on that $70/hour for 7 hour transfer it’s since 6/02/22, then they say you didn’t invoice, and you screenshot an invoice with 5 other loads that they were paid, they finally admitted they “misplaced” the paperwork, wanted me to resend.
They have in their rules, if you mess up, they won’t resend you anything.

2.)If you really dedicated and don’t go out and buy new vehicle(s) house(s) basically blow your trucks money, keep it separate, and pay yourself as an employee or have the determination to not use all the”company” funds, you may do well.
The only true failures are those who fail to even try to do something, you’ll never know til you try, it’s out there go get it.

A good video about 2 entrepreneurs that Warren Buffett talks about, he bought out one company, other one wouldn’t sale to him, you maybe surprised which company it was.
It shows though, no matter what your educational levels, determination goes a long way.

@Dave_in_AZ are you still looking for another tractor? Passed a newer WS stand up looked straight but couldn't stop for pictures, if interested I'll stop next time I'm that way. Oh it's in Milton-Freewater OR.
